I have spent my life close to the human heart — in the operating room, and in the relationships that shape us.

I am a Kenyan heart surgeon, author, coach, and speaker. My work has grown from the operating room into books, mentorship, public speaking, and story-led leadership.
I trained in Kenya and then at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne, where I spent 2022 and 2023 learning minimally invasive thoracic and vascular surgery. When I came home, I performed more lifesaving surgeries in six months than I had in the previous ten years.
I served at Tenwek Hospital — a mission hospital in rural Kenya — as one of a handful of cardiac surgeons for a region of millions, and I have presented at the AATS podium in Boston on building cardiac surgical programs in low-income countries.
With my wife, Dr. Esther Dindi, I started the Thriving Couples movement in October 2020 — a community that grew to hundreds of thousands of members and became a conversation we never expected to be having at this scale.
Today I serve as Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Avenue Group of Hospitals, and as President of the Kenya Association of Thoracic Surgeons. I write. I speak. I coach. I am raising children. And I am still trying, every day, to be the kind of husband Esther deserves.
This is not a complete story. It is a story still being written.
